Schloss Wartensee

Excellent view over the Constance Lake and shore.

Despite the location in an old castle the rooms are mostly in a modern building. Breakfast is below Swiss standard for the price.

But it’s a real castle, with very high ceilings in the rooms — just don’t expect modern comfort, because everything really is just like in a castle :)

We were traveling with a child. The booking conditions stated that the child could stay in our room, which we were totally fine with. But of course, we expected at least a separate pillow and blanket for the child — and there was nothing.The reception was already closed for the night, so that was a bit inconvenient.Other than that, everything was great.

The hotel is well maintained, the staff is always welcoming and smiley! The breakfast is very good!

The bathroom requires a renovation but it is functional!

The hotel's location is excellent for those seeking tranquility. In the morning, you can take a peaceful walk in a truly stunning environment. There are some beautiful stables nearby, which add to the charm of the area. The breakfast is outstanding, and the views are absolutely breathtaking. I highly recommend this hotel, particularly in the autumn, as the colors surrounding it are magnificent.

Having booked into a Schlosshotel we expected to be staying in a Schloss. However once inside the bedrooms felt like made out of container boxes. It was impossible to read as the nightlamps were lower than the bed and rather dim. The television did not work, even after following suggested tips of getting it to work. So there was nothing else to do but try to go to sleep. Howerver there were no black out curtains so the room was somewhat bright from the outside lighting and the shutters which were impossible to close rattled against each other in the wind. An entertaining if sadly not very restful night .

Very very nice historical place , modern renovated , amazing 180 view to the lake . Nice garden an area . Rooms are stylish . Really recommend .

Please do not go for diner and breakfast . Food and was really bad . To have a drink in a garden with a lake view is must :)

The area and surrounding beautiful. The Staff very friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable.

Everything! Cheese on breakfast was very delicious.

Shower curtain must be longer, a lot of water in the bathroom.

The location is nice to enjoy a little vacation, the breakfast was good and beds were clean and comfortable.

The bathroom stinks from the drainage hole hence the rest of the house. There is no coffee machine or kettle or cups in the room.

The setting was magical: lake view, large grounds with a pond, a small trail, a place to sit or paint quietly while the sun sets or rises. The breakfast was very good.

The restaurant dinner offerings were highly priced, took a long time coming, and was not particularly great.

Staying for a night in a castle with a great view on lake Bodensee, that was really nice. We enjoyed the dinner and the sunset on the outside courtyard. The castle is situated in a quiet surrounding, no cars or other noises can be heard.

Breakfast selection was a little limited and the scrambled eggs were burned. No one staffs the hotel from 10pm until the early morning, so we got woken up at 3am by late arriving guests that were trying to find a way into their room, smoking and speaking loudly at the entrance (our room was right above the entrance).

Location

Catherine was very good ,but reluctant to give is a room with balcony. Dinner was a disaster with the pasta and chicken cooked by the italian chef were not palatable. Again Catherine was a big help. Breakfast was poor,staff untrained as they could not keep the buffet properly loaded.

The food was horrible. We had for 3 persons 3 course menus .All horrible and expensive.

Location was great, visually spectacular, rooms and breakfast all good. Would love to visit in the summer with more guests and a stronger vibe.

Nothing bad, but we visited at a very quiet time and in such a big place felt like we ratted around. Staff very helpful, but few in number.

Great location and character building. We cycled up the hill to get there from the lake so it was nice to be rewarded with the great views and location

It seemed as though they were understaffed. Although we arrived late and still had a meal and some drinks, which was good. It just seemed as though every order took time. Staff were pleasant enough under the circumstances.
